Up this week is HeadStuff’s very own Ruth Connolly and one half of the Visual Arts Editorial team. Ruth is a visual artist and photographer from Galway, she now lives and works as a freelance photographer in Dublin.

Ruth studied Fine Art printmaking in Limerick School of Art and Design, and continued on to complete an MA in Photography from Central Saint Martins in London.
“With regards photography, my ongoing practice deals with themes of home, migration and landscape. I use a combination of portraiture, landscape and every day objects to explore what it is to be human. I am interested in the fixed notion of Irishness, and what it means. After returning home to Ireland after three years away, I am constantly inspired by Irish light, and my instagram has reflected this lately.” – Ruth Connolly

“I use instagram as a sort of visual diary. I use it to document my daily life and my love of travel. I also put photographs up from ongoing projects I’m working on, from art and documentary to commercial stuff.” – Ruth Connolly
