#15 | George Hook

In Episode 15 – recorded live at the Cork Opera House during this year’s Cork Comedy Festival – broadcaster and Cork native, George Hook, talks to Alison. The main thing we learned this episode is why George’s own radio show has to be pre-recorded. George talks about his Enda Kenny fantasies, his love of “boosoms” and how his greatest honour was speaking at Béal na Bláth.

Thanks to everyone at The Cork Comedy Festival, especially Jane Russell. A special thank you to Gearóid Farrelly who saved the day when we forgot the recording equipment. He has a great podcast called Fascinated. The episode Alison mentions is here. Thanks to George Hook for coming on the show and to the producers Sarah Garvey and Andrea Farrell.

Alison does stand-up comedy all the time because there’s no money in it. You can see her upcoming gigs on her website, alisonspittle.com. See The Alison Spittle Show live at the Workman’s Club in Dublin on October 28th with special guests Joanne McNally, Mattress Mick and Shane Clifford (from Shane’s Brilliant Page).
Alison’s last time doing Alison Spittle Discovers Hawaii is Sunday January 22nd in Whelan’s. Come along.
