Every fortnight at PodStuff we round up the latest podcast news. This week we’ve got a new podcast from Niall Breslin about mental health, some podcast predictions, advice on diversity in podcasting, and more.
New Podcast from Niall Breslin
Irish musician, writer, and mindfulness expert Niall Breslin has launched a new podcast, Where Is My Mind?, in which he sets out to explore the “impact this society and our culture has on us, how we can better deal with it by guiding us through the basics of mindfulness practice and meditation… exploring everything from neuroscience to the ancient teachings of Buddhist psychology”. You can have a listen to episode one here.

Diversity in Podcasting
Juleyka Lantigua-Williams, the creator and executive producer of 70 Million, has published an “informal guide” in The Bello Collective on centering marginalized people in your podcast. There’s lots of sensible advice and further reading too. This ties in nicely with the recent release of POC In Audio, a international directory (although no Irish listings as of yet) of people of colour working in audio. For more, read the transcript of Phoebe Wang’s speech at the Third Coast Festival which launched the directory.
Reading about Listening
The Podcast Host, a treasure trove of great resources for podcasters, has rounded up some great books about podcasting. Lindsay Harris Friel highlights publications on everything from podcasting tech and strategies, to insights into how to make professional-sounding audio drama and storytelling podcasts. I’ve got my podcast nerd summer beach reads sorted now. Check out the full list here.
