Episode 15 – B. Dolan and Buddy Peace

B. Dolan joined us on The HeadStuff Podcast and we were ridiculously excited about it, and he didn’t let us down. He brought his friend and DJ Buddy Peace. Paddy and Conor were also in on it. Dolan and Buddy (now our buddy) were dead sound, and very generous with their time, so much so that we had to split this episode into two parts. There’s talk about all sorts of stuff, like; Kanye (obviously), politics, rap and hip hop, music, touring, Kill the Wolf, America, how often to change your bed sheets, home heating, touring with hardcore bands #FilmThePolice, Which Side Are You On?, and really, much more. It’s a great listen and we really hope you enjoy it.

Part 2 will be out in a couple of days, so look out for that.

B. Dolan gig in The Workman’s Club

B. Dolan and Buddy Peace played on Tuesday 29th in the Workman’s Club, Dublin. I was very excited about it, I’d seen him for the first time in 2010 when he supported Dan le Sac V.S. Scroobius Pip in Limerick and I’ve been a fan ever since.

His new album Kill the Wolf was released in July was entirely worth the five year wait. He played a lot of songs from the album including ‘These Rooms’ which we talk about on the podcast. For #FilmThePolice, Dolan’s take on NWA’s ‘Fuck Da Police’, he got the lighting guy to turn off the lights and asked everyone in the audience to put their flashlights on their phones and point them at the stage. It was a brilliant effect, and it highlighted the power of the mobile device and its usefulness in the face of corruption.

B. had a dance off with a terrible Irishman, had good banter with the crowd and also treated us to a new song, which is currently in spoken word form called ‘The Last Temptation of Wile E Coyote’ which is absolutely phenomenal.
