NO ENCORE #024 | A Long Time Ago in a Le Galaxie Far, Far Away…

Significantly more hard-hitting than CM Punk in the octagon, it’s NO ENCORE 24~! Dave, Colm and Craig are back for more music-related chat as Michael Pope of Le Galaxie fame drops by for co-hosting duties.

It’s a packed show with the usual goings-on and a considered look at this year’s Electric Picnic spectacular, where Mick found himself broadcast live to the nation with no prior knowledge, which was less terrifying than when Colm interviewed him in front of an audience a few hours beforehand.

ACT ONE: Tales of late-night karaoke make way for Bon Iver and his strange method of promoting his new record, Lil Wayne feeling mentally defeated (and some choice advice from his friends) and the inevitable Craig on Kanye update.

ACT TWO (17:00): A whirling dervish of sounds and styles, and that’s just Dan Deacon. The electro wizard joins up – sort of – with Tokyo Police Club, Sia, Mick Flannery and Zack De La Rocha in the Songs Of The Week.

ACT THREE (38:00): An estimated 55,000+ REVELLERS descended on Stradbally for this year’s Electric Picnic bash. Colm and Mick were among them while Dave, still on festival hiatus, caught up with a four-hour block delivered by the national broadcaster. Play enjoyed by all?

ACT FOUR (56:10): Angel Olsen’s MY WOMAN goes under the Album Of The Week spotlight.
