Call For Submissions – HeadStuff Literary Section

Fiction

Are you passionate about all things writing and literature? The Literature section at HeadStuff needs you! We are looking for flash fiction and short story submissions for our Fortnightly Fiction section which we’ll be featuring… you guessed it – fortnightly!

We want quality literary work. We are likely to prioritise fiction which engages with the issues of today and wrestles with truths from our modern world. While there is a desire to see work with a strong emphasis on voice and character, we also hope to read submissions which aren’t afraid to push the boundaries of what is expected of short fiction, work that takes chances. So long as the quality of the work shines through, we are open to anything. Surprise us. Delight us. Give us no choice but to publish your work. One story per submission. 2500 words max. for short stories and 1000 words max. for flash fiction.

Essays

We are also looking for literary and popular essays/articles. We want to read (and potentially publish) articles and essays that are engaging and well-written. We are particularly interested in profiles of contemporary Irish writers.

Reviews

We would love to read reviews of literary novels and short story collections; but we are open to reviewing other genre books. If there is a book you would like to review for us or, alternatively, a book you would like us to review please contact us.
