Tittererer’s Digest |97| feat. The Middle Finger

Good day people. How’s your post bank holiday week going? Did you visit a bank over the long weekend? Take some holiday snaps while waiting to lodge a cheque? Get told by a curt member of staff that you can now holiday in the online bank? Don’t worry, we’ve all been there.

1. The Middle Finger

The Middle Finger, an Irish superhero comedy, is screening next week, Friday August 18th, in the Light House Cinema. The film is written by, directed by and stars Séamus Hanly and has been described as “dumb in a clever way.”

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers hosted by Alison Spittle (who also has a small role in the film).

The film has been picked up for distribution by Troma Entertainment (of Toxic Avenger fame) and is in fact the first Irish film they have acquired. If you need more convincing: I’ve seen the film, bought the tshirt and I assure you that it’s a delightful and fun piece of cinema. You’ll definitely have a good time.

2. The Land of the Large Adult Son

A recent piece in the New Yorker highlights our modern era of the large adult son – a meme that encompasses both fictional families and the actual children of the rich and powerful. It touches on all the areas you’d expect: Clickhole, @dril and the Trump family.

3. That Friend You Haven’t Seen Since High School

Another short from Chris and Jack. A couple of childhood friends haven’t seen each other in fifteen years and finally get to catch up over coffee.

4. Eamon de Valera’s Funeral

This tweet. This tweet is really something. I wasn’t even familiar with the Wii Shop Channel theme before this tweet. Enjoy.

Before I Go…

A few years back the Onion News Network managed to snag God, the creator of literally everything, for a one-on-one interview. It’s enlightening, to say the least.
