Tittererer’s Digest |103| feat. The Good Place
Howdy partner. Welcome to an all-American edition of Tittererer’s Digest. Grab yourself a nice pair of hot dogs and switch on your answering machine, because things are about to get yankee in here.
1. The Good Place
The Good Place is coming to Netflix. This sitcom follows Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell) as a person mistakenly sent to “the good place” after she dies as she tries to change her ways to fit in. The show also stars Ted freakin’ Danson and was created by Mike Schur, the powerhouse behind Parks & Rec and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It’s only a thirteen episode season, but it is wonderful and a must-watch for any fans of Schur’s other work.
The second season started on NBC yesterday and the new episodes will be on Netflix here every week.
2. Sean Spicer at the Emmys
Sean Spicer’s appearance at last weekend’s 69th Primetime Emmy Awards (nice) proved unpopular; probably more so than they had expected. Lauren Duca has written a piece for Teen Vogue about the matter and the normalisation of the previously unacceptable.
3. Jerry Before Seinfeld
Jerry Seinfeld of Bee Movie fame has made his first stand-up special in nearly two decades. It became available on Netflix earlier this week. He takes the stage in the Comic Strip, the club where he started his career in the 1970s (that was before they had websites or cellphones or Seinfeld).
4. Dumpster Diving
Some high school kids in California wrote a short film but unlike most children, or people in general, their film was directed by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen. The film also stars Rogen along with Michael Peña, James Franco and Nick Kroll. It’s pretty good, give it a watch; it’s embedded in the article there.
