Tittererer’s Digest |68| feat. Caleb Gallo

Hello You. the last time we spoke I said these would get more frequent but I lied. This time I mean it though. Hello also to the Curious Cat Anon who asked me about Tittererer’s Digest, my only confirmed reader. You are a saint and this TD is dedicated to you. What’s in this TD I hear you ask? Well, I’ll tell you where you can find members of the HeadStuff family at the Vodafone Comedy Festival, look at The Gay and Wondrous Life of Caleb Gallo, Ana Fabrega, and OTHER THINGS TOO.

1. The Vodafone Comedy Festival 2016

Ok so, the Vodiafone Comedy Festival is starting TODAY my dudes. There are a lot of amazing comedians at it and not in a hyperbole way; look at the lineup here. Comedy is subjective so I’m not going to tell you who you should go see but I will tell you where people with tenuous connections to HeadStuff are playing.

Alison Spittle

Host of The Alison Spittle Show and contributor Alison Spittle can be found in the following places:

Thursday 7:30 Recording a LIVE episode of the Alison Spittle Show  in the Laughter Lab with guests David O’Doherty and Maeve Higgins. This will be so good.

Thursday 9:30 At the Big Red stage with Danny O’Brien, Chris Gethard, Maeve Higgins, and David O’Doherty. That’s probably the strongest lineup of any show at the festival imo. Good lord.

Saturday 9:30 At The Jokeshop stage with Tom O’Mahony, fellow HeadStuff VIP Gearoid Farrelly, Leonard Ouzts, and Maeve Higgins.

Andrea Farrell

Andrea produces the Alison Spittle Show, is a former HeadStuff podcast guest, did a brilliant lecture at the first HeadStuff Lectures event, and wrote a great piece about Crohn’s Disease which you can read here

Saturday 4:00  At The Cherry Top stage with Karl Spain, Dan Soder, and Stewart Francis

Sunday 4:30 At the Jokeshop stage with Trevor Browne, Karl Spain, Edwin Sammon and Kevin McGahern.

Gearoid Farrelly

Gearoid hosts the Fascinated podcast and the HeadStuff lectures and can be found in the following places;

Saturday 9:30 At The Jokeshop stage with Tom O’Mahony, Alison Spittle, Leonard Ouzts, and Maeve Higgins.

Sunday 8:00 At the Cherry Top stage with Annie Lederman, Jarlath Regan, Sasheer Zamata, and Jason Byrne

The Mess Around

Brody and Chadwick’s brilliant sketch show takes to the Laughter Lab at 7:30 on Saturday with guests Chris Gethard, Kevin McGahern, and Eleanor Tiernan

2. The Gay and Wondrous Life of Caleb Gallo

The Gay and Wondrous Life of Caleb Gallo is my new favourite thing. Everybody in it is hilarious and quick and beautiful, its visual style pops like a firework, the soundtrack is perfect, its approach to sexuality and gender is like nothing on TV, and it’s very very funny and then touching and then very very funny again. It’s written, directed, and edited by Brian Jordan Alvarez who also stars as Caleb. Read a good interview with him about it here and then watch episode one above and then all the rest of the episodes as well.

3.  Ana Fabrega

Ana Fabrega makes exactly the kind of good-natured weirdness we like to feature here at Tittererer’s Digest. The first thing I saw of hers was this tweet about drummers. I have watched this video maybe twenty times? I’m not sure.

I then moved on to her Word Search with Fred Armisen

And now I’m giggling at her ISIS News video

So yeah, Ana Fabrega, she’s great.

4. Conor McGregor Press Conferences Are Getting Weird

The good men at Aunties GeekEasy bring us this message from the other side. I don’t know what that means, I’m just a conduit.

Ok, I’ll see you in Iveagh Gardens. Safe home.
