Tittererer’s Digest |132| feat. Workman’s Comedy Club

Hey there. Look at all these things. Wouldn’t you like to know more about them? Well, then look closer.

1. Workman’s Comedy Club

The monthly laugh barrel that is the Workman’s Comedy Club returns this Sunday 20 May to the Vintage Room in the Workman’s Club, of all places. Headlining this month is Áine Gallagher and she is joined by Aoife O’Connor, Bláithín De Burca, Denny McDermott, Hannah Mamalis and Elaine Gallagher. It all kicks off at 8pm.

2. Dreamgun

The latest edition of Dreamgun’s film funnies podcast is set in the chocolate factory of famously anti-union Willy Wonka. If you like that you can also pick up tickets for their next show when they’ll be performing Back to the Future at the Kilkenny Cat Laughs festival. Tickets are available here.

3. John Mulaney: Kid Gorgeous at Radio City

Alright, it was released a couple of weeks back but I only watched it at the weekend. John Mulaney’s latest stand up special is on Netflix and it is brilliant. He says the name Detective J.J. Bittenbinder a lot, which alone is worth the price of admission. So log into your Netflix account or somebody else’s account or break into your nearest Netflix data centre where you should find it filed under H for Hojn Mulaney. (It’s just a typo. Look, this would be much easier if you just paid for Netflix.)

4. Breaking Down Seinfeld

Do you like Seinfeld? Do you like graphs? Do you like when two things you like are put together? Then check out this piece on Ceros that analysed the scripts of every episode of Seinfeld to find out how the show ticked.
