What is Instagram for you?
Instagram is a great place to discover people – It’s important to see what others are creating. It also gives me a space to share my work and help me focus on selecting stronger images.
Why/when did you decide to start sharing your work there?
I’m a latecomer to Instagram, I joined around this time last year after some friends encouraged me to. I was hooked instantly – I love that it’s just visuals and not an endless stream of ads.
How would you describe your style?
I suppose that I could be described as a street photographer. I studied fine art so I feel that has an influence on how I look at things– people factor greatly in my photographs whether in the street or the landscape. I like to try and tell a story with each image.
What materials do you mainly work with?
I shoot with a Canon DSLR and my Ricoh GR which is perfect for street photography as it’s very discreet.
Who has been or currently is an influence on you?
Bruce Davidson, Cindy Sherman, Robert Frank and Vivian Maier all remind me of how powerful photography can be.
What are your must-follow accounts on Instagram?
