Joseph Horgan was born and raised in Birmingham, England, of Irish immigrant parents. Amongst other credits he is a past winner of The Patrick Kavanagh Award and a current recipient of the Poetry Ireland Residency Bursary. He is the author of four books and writes a weekly column for The Irish Post. His pamphlet collection, 21; The Thing I Am, is forthcoming with Flarestack Press. His work has been published in literary journals throughout Ireland, the U.K., Europe and the US.
