Spider Sabichs was a major skiiing hotshot in the 1960s and 1970s – his golden boy looks providing Robert Redford with inspiration for his breakout film ‘Downhill Racer’.

Known for playing as hard as he worked, Spider Sabichs was also quite the ladies man, eventually embarking on a relationship with Andy Williams ex wife French-born singer Claudine Longet. Their dynamic had always been tumultuous but few would have predicted how grisly things would turn on a March evening in 1976.
