Conor and I are joined on the second InHouse episode of The HeadStuff Podcast by Dave Hanratty (HeadStuff Music Editor); Louise Bruton (HeadStuff, Irish Times); Colm O’Regan (Hotpress); and Dean Van Nguyen (Pitchfork, NME).

We talk, in no uncertain terms, about Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Beck, U2, The Corrs, Hozier, Sam Smith, Prince, Girl Band, Adele, Streaming services; Apple Music, Spotify and Tidal, the best albums, songs and artists of the year. We also discuss how terrorism will affect music, or vice versa as ISIS attacked the Bataclan in Paris.

There is a drinking game in this, if you’d like to partake. Everytime you hear a can opening on the podcast, you have to open a can, watch out for that familiar pop of a bottle of prosecco too…

Alan Bennett was a stand-up comedian for a while and during that time he toured with David O'Doherty and Maeve Higgins and did well in some competitions and co-ran Schnitzel Comedy Club. Then he started writing fiction and it has been published in several literary magazines and anthologies including 30 Under 30 which Joseph O'Connor chose as one of his books of the year for The Irish Times. He received a Masters with first class honours in creative writing from UCD and a BA in fine art painting from LSAD. Now he's working on getting his novel on, and being in charge of HeadStuff.org.
