NO ENCORE #052 | I Like My French House To Be Slightly More Substantial

The boys are back in town the studio together for the first time since the triumphant live outing at The Workman’s Club. Craig’s fresh from yet another wild stag weekend, Colm is basking in the afterglow of judging the Choice Music Prize and Dave… well, Dave is still pretty opinionated and possibly misunderstood.

On this week’s agenda – a chat with Hamilton Leithauser of The Walkmen and excellent solo material fame, the rights and wrongs of magazine editorial decision-making, the new release from Charli XCX and a great deal more besides…

ACT ONE: Craig is exposed as being a #lad and the boys recount yet another gig where people just can’t stop talking during the set.

ACT TWO (7:50): Dave sat down with Hamilton Leithauser before said show to discuss his latest album, working with Rostam and why you really, really shouldn’t try and mug him.

ACT THREE (19:10): In the news – a highly disgruntled Stormzy takes on the NME, Kasabian plan to save the world, ANOHNI wants your feelings and Taylor Swift isn’t getting into the streaming game.

ACT FOUR (33:30): Songs Of The Week with turns from Loah, Frank Ocean, Ho99o9 and Weezer.

ACT FIVE (49:05): Is it an album? Is it a mixtape? Will the Big Shop ever be the same again for Colm? Charli XCX’s Number 1 Angel reviewed.

EXIT MUSIC: Proper Micro NV – ‘Do What You Do’
