Beyond (Your) Fear – TEDx Griffith College

If you have been looking for inspirational content on the internet, you will inevitably have come across TED-talks. The format serves as a platform for “Ideas worth spreading” around a number of different topics. Be it in the name-giving areas of Technology, Entertainment and Design, or in other categories like business or arts – or even a How-to on using only one paper towel, TED talks never cease to shine a light on innovative ways of thinking.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.

In March 2017, a team from Griffith College Dublin wants to bring this spirit to Dublin: TEDxGriffithCollege will take place March 31 and focus on the Theme “Beyond (Your) Fear”.

The goal of the event is to present new ideas and unique experiences worth spreading all around this powerful emotion.  One of TEDx’ core ideas is to present ideas that come from a local level but that could be applied on a much wider scale. TEDxGriffithCollege aims to help these ideas get the exposure they deserve. To foster conversation that matters and to contribute to the opening public discourse about fear.

That is why the team is still seeking for speakers with their open Call for Speakers. The submission is still open until January 31st. Potential speakers don’t have to be experienced, but it is a plus.

Fear is an emotion that has a tremendous impact on many of our life’s most important decisions – and it often hides in the subconscious. With TEDxGriffithCollege, the team wants to give their audience a peek behind the scenes of what others have experienced, how they learned to cope with or even worked with their fears – and how these new perspectives can help everybody in becoming more resilient to changes and keep growing.

A focus lies on presenting new ideas and unique experiences worth spreading all around this powerful emotion.

If you want to take part in the event, please send the speakers template provided in the Call for Speakers to [email protected].
