Tittererer’s Digest |65| feat. Eurovision

Hey Hey Sha Na Na Europe Party Let’s Sing Sha Na Na. It’s Eurovision time! Eurovision would be my Christmas if Christmas wasn’t already my Christmas. A man has to pick a Christmas – Omar Wire. Ok let’s get to the things you should watch.

Eurovision

As I said above, it’s Eurovision time. I love Eurovision. I loved it before Twitter but I love it even more now. By the time you read this the first semi-final will have happened but there’s still time to watch semi-final 2 (RTÉ 2, Thursday 20:00) and the final itself (RTÉ One, Saturday 20:00). I don’t look at the songs ahead of time so I have no favourites or tips or whatever. I’ll be tweeting it at @YourRTEGuide. Other people you should check out for Eurovision tweets include @andgoseek, @PrayForPatrick, @jadehayden, and @RichieMcCormack. BTW I’m VERY angry that Justin Timberlake is performing. It goes against everything I’ve decided Eurovision stands for so THERE.

Carrie Brownstein – Call Me Crazy

Carrie Brownstein is in one of the best bands in the world. She’s in one of the best shows around. Her memoir, Hunger Makes Me A Modern Girl, is one of my favourite memoirs. She’s inspirational as hell. It’s a relief therefore, to see that even gods have to participate in boring, pointless conference calls. In this piece for the New Yorker, Brownstein details exactly why these nuisances which seem to be a futuristic tech solution to our globalised workplace are actually the worst. The absolute fucking worst.

Two Silly Little Videos

Here are two silly little videos. The first is Speak Of The Devil by Chap’s Eye
