Alan’s gone. Giles is filling in. Here’s the comedy he consumed this last week.

1. With Bob and David

Netflix have released four glorious episodes of With Bob & David, a sketch master class from the creators of Mr. Show – Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul) and David Cross (Arrested Development). If you’re of the opinion that Mr. Show is the best sketch comedy this side of Monty Python but are wary of having your heart broken by another lacklustre reunion, then rest assured that With Bob & David is just as sharp and hilarious as its predecessor. If you’ve never heard of Mr. Show in your life but like either Bob or David, you’ll also extract a belly laugh or two from this meticulously crafted comedy. There’s a bonus hour-long episode which shows you the making of the show that’s a must for any comedy writer or lover of things that are an hour long.

2. She Said with Cameron Esposito and Rhea Butcher

The latest from Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls production company, She Said with Cameron Esposito and Rhea Butcher is a new web series from the comedians and real life fiancees Esposito and Butcher. The first episode tackles infrequently asked questions about the female anatomy which serves as a springboard for a funny and confessional conversation between the two co-hosts.

3. Evergreen Ireland with Finnegan Flanley

Here’s an exciting sketch from Waterford sketch group Good Man Lads. Evergreen Ireland celebrates the beauty and history of Ireland with intrepid host Finnegan Flanley, one of the most delightful comedy characters in recent memory. There’s a web series coming out in 2016 courtesy of the Waterford Whispers News so keep your eyes peeled for that.

4. Dreamland / Utopia

[youtube id=”UfTBdqF5Vgw” align=”center” autoplay=”no” maxwidth=”702″]

Dreamland (previously known as Utopia) is a lovely comedy of manners set in the offices of the newly created government organisation called Nation Building Australia. Like a non-sweary version of The Thick Of It or a more grounded W1A, Dreamland comes with a high comedy pedigree from Australian production company Working Dog. Director/creator Rob Sitch plays Tony, a nice fellow and the leader of an authority whose purview is the future development of Australia whose job is made impossible by his idiotic staff and headline-chasing superiors.

5. Nathan For You

If you’ve been following the show Nathan For You, Comedy Central’s live action, Looney Toons cartoon, masquerading as a reality home make-over show, you’ll be familiar with host Nathan Fielder’s deadpan delivery and penchant for escalation. His latest hair brained scheme is to help a small electronics store take on a corporate giant through one of the stupidest plans ever spoken out loud.

6. Billy On The Street
