Shot Of Science | Have You Lost Hours To YouTube?

Diving down the rabbit hole of YouTube may lose you hours but that doesn’t mean time wasted. Throwing some science trivia into a conversation can impress potential lovers and make you appear far more knowledgeable than you actually are. I’ve made a list of the best YouTube science channels to help you achieve this deception. The best part is you don’t need to be a science-head and, unlike your secondary school science class, these videos are actually interesting. Just drink the potion of these not-so-average science teachers…

AsapSCIENCE

AsapSCIENCE deal with the important stuff: The science of orgasms. Will dancing get you laid? And the age-old conundrum of which is more painful? Childbirth or getting kicked in the balls? Enough said.

PBS Space Time

This is the hard liquor of entertainment science. This is not your basic Pluto or the Moon astronomy. The American Public Broadcasting Service realised that the future is online television and so, PBS Space Time was born. The show uses advanced physics to answer creative questions, such as, would it be possible to fart your way to the moon? What planet is Supermario World? How do you actually measure the Universe? The science may loose you occasionally but charismatic host Gabe Perez-Giz will find you again. The hilarity of the questions keeps you watching.

VSauce

VSauce‘s Michael Stevens seems like the type of guy who is constantly in an existential crisis. He asks questions like What would happen if you were shrunk? (with the help of Paul Rudd), Is all fair in love and war? Why are things creepy? Could you live forever?

Smarter Every Day

Destin Sandlin has been making Smarter Every Day since the earliest years of YouTube and his first major hit was this hilarious chicken video (above). Sandlin is a rocket engineer by day (which is pretty cool to begin with) and he makes videos about fantastically quirky science things. For example did you know you can actually forget how to ride a bike?

You probably thought this article would help you get over your YouTube addiction. My apologies, it won’t. Check out part 2 of the best YouTube science channels for a further dose of stimulants!
